How to paint a 40mm knight

I will explain here how I painted the 40mm knight you can see on the 40mm page.

First of all after cleaning flash and asembly of the miniature I undercoatet the complete figure with black gesso . Gesso is normaly used to prepair canvas for paintings. It is avalable in good art shops.

then the metal parts were drybrushed in3 different shades ( oily steel, steel an silver all coloures used were from the Valejo range)

Here the helmet in closeup!

Here the first shade of blue (dark prussian blue was aplied. The shild was handpainted on paper and fixed to the miniature.

The next shades of blue are added.

A closer look at the blue shades and the heraldry

Now the cape followed in different shades of white!
